Join the GMP for our festive annual Harpers Ferry holiday hike. Expect a short, scenic, 2-3 hour hike of moderate difficulty. Most of the afternoon will be available for exploring the town and taking in history and/or visiting the brewery. Harpers Ferry celebrates Christmas 1860's style.

Hikers meet at the Harpers Ferry TRAIN STATION at 8:45 a.m. (PLEASE NOTE THE EARLIER START TIME bc the parking lot was almost full at 9:00 last year!)

PARK FEE: $10/Vehicle CASH OR CHECK

WHERE: Harpers Ferry, WV Train Station

Trail Riding in Clinton MD followed by homemade ice cream at Miller's Farm -- Sunday May 7, 2023

Take a guided trail ride through the beautiful rolling hills, woods, and airfield in Clinton MD with Piscataway Stables. Enjoy homemade ice cream at Miller Farms afterward.

When:
May 7, 2023.
Meet between 9:30 and 9:45 to organize, sign waivers, get helmets for the 1st 10 am ride

Piscataway Horse Farm in Clinton MD

How long?:
Trail ride is 1 hour

Cost:
$60 cash only + tip
250 lb weight limit
Children over 11

Bring/Wear:
Solid Leather boots or shoes are better than sneakers.

Join the GMP as they explore the Northside Trails of the American Chestnut Land Trust. Follow a nice hike up with a visit to the Running Hare Winery / Brewery.

Difficulty: Easy/Moderate with bay views -- approximately 3.5 miles

Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary

Join the GMP for a scenic six mile hike at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary (www.jugbay.org) in Anne Arundel County, just 40 minutes from DC. This approximately three hour hike takes us along the Patuxent River, through woods, marshes, and an abandoned rail line.

The hike is easy to moderate, with some small hills. Option: after the hike we can have lunch at Ella Ray's Café in Forestville.
