Join the GMP for our festive annual Harpers Ferry holiday hike. Expect a short, scenic, 2-3 hour hike of moderate difficulty. Most of the afternoon will be available for exploring the town and taking in history and/or visiting the brewery. Harpers Ferry celebrates Christmas 1860's style. DATE: Saturday, December 16, 2023 Hikers meet at the Harpers Ferry TRAIN STATION at 8:45 a.m. (PLEASE NOTE THE EARLIER START TIME bc the parking lot was almost full at 9:00 last year!) Join the GMP for a scenic six mile hike at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary (www.jugbay.org) in Anne Arundel County, just 40 minutes from DC. This approximately three hour hike takes us along the Patuxent River, through woods, marshes, and an abandoned rail line. The hike is easy to moderate, with some small hills.
