Raven Rocks Hike (6 Miles), Saturday, May 20, 2017 MEET: Parking lot: Snickers Gap - Appalachian Trailhead, Millwood, VA TIME: 9AM at the trailhead ***** RAVEN ROCKS HIKE DETAILS ***** The view from Raven Rocks is one of the best in the area. Although the distance is only 6 miles with a vertical gain of 1,530ft, as you can see from the elevation profile, there are three strenuous ascents on this out and back hike. Good portions of the trail are pretty steep and rocky. Hiking boots are recommended. Saturday June 03, 2017
Mary's Rock Sunset Join the GMP for a hike up Mary's Rock. It is one of high points in the Shenandoah National Park and you will have some great views from there. It will be steep up to the summit. This is a sunset hike, so we will take the shortcut to the summit. You will need a headlamp/flashlight or you could use your smartphone's flashlight. TRAIL: 1.8 miles (parking lot to the summit) It should take us about 1 hr 30 min to the summit (3,514 ft). We will gain 1,210 ft of elevation. This hike is short but strenuous. Sunday June 04, 2017

Join the Green Mountain People (Census Outdoor Club) as we take a one hour relaxed Western-style trail ride over the rolling hills and through the shady woods of Clinton, MD. ***No experience necessary*** When: Sunday June 4 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 pm. Participants will need to arrive at the stable by 11:30 a.m. Where: Piscataway Riding Stables, 10775 Piscataway Rd., Clinton, MD. Cost: $50 cash only + optional tip if you want to for trail hand Attire: Long Pants, Shoes with a heel, helmet (optional -- bike helmets okay)
