Join the GMP for our festive annual Harpers Ferry holiday hike. Expect a short, scenic, 2-3 hour hike of moderate difficulty. Most of the afternoon will be available for exploring the town, shopping, and taking in history. Harpers Ferry celebrates Christmas 1860's style.

NO POST HIKE RESTAURANT THIS YEAR. INSTEAD, Bring a warm or cold drink in a thermos along with a tasty snack to enjoy where we can spread out on one of the overlooks.

Hikers meet at the train station at 9:30 a.m. EARLIER START TIME!

PARK FEE: $10/Vehicle CASH OR CHECK

WHERE: Harpers Ferry, WV

NO SIGN UP THIS YEAR. SHOW UP IF YOU ARE INTERESTED!

NO CARPOOLS ARE BEING ARRANGED!

BRING: MASK, One quart of water per hiker, warm or cold drink, snack, hiking boots or shoes with traction, warm gloves, warm socks, scarf, rain poncho (if rain). Bring your camera! Great views!

Directions to the train station located in the lower town, historic section of Harpers Ferry:

From Washington DC: Once on the beltway, take I-495 to I-270 N. Follow I-270 to Frederick, MD and take exit for Rt. 340 S toward Harpers Ferry. At the Harpers Ferry stoplight, turn left. Distance: approximately 66 miles. *Allow 2 hours for travel from Washington DC (1.5 hours driving and .5 hours to park, wait for, and take the shuttle to the historic part of town)

To get to the train station, take the shuttle to the historic part of town or park at the train station directly.
