Overall Run/Heiskell Hollow Hike (~13 Miles), Saturday, July 15

MEET: 38.78000, -78.35672 (parking lot)

TIME: 8:00AM at the parking lot. (Leave DC area around 6:00AM)

***** OVERALL RUN-HEISKELL TRAIL HIKE DETAILS *****

This hike has just about everything you would want in a hike: streams, swimming holes, falls, vistas, homestead ruins, etc. For a hot July hike, we'll hike quickly to leave time to cool off in the creeks!

If you hiked Old Rag in April without issue (8.5 miles), this is only about 4 additional miles. The elevation climb and heat will be intense--so be prepared!

* The driving time from DC to the parking lot: ~2 hours
* Plan to leave DC area around 6:00AM. We can coordinate carpools among those who RSVP.
* The trail length: ~13 miles
* The hiking time: 6.5-7 hours
* Before we head back home, we'll stop for a late lunch/early dinner and maybe a brewery in the Front Royal area
